mytvonline Setup on Formuler: Essential Step-by-Step Guide

The mytvonline app (MyTVOnline 2) is the recommended IPTV client for Formuler boxes — reliable, fast, and built specifically for these devices. This guide walks you through the complete process to set up MyTVOnline 2 on your Formuler (Z8, Z10, Z11 and similar models), including the mandatory MAC registration, entering your portal URL, and common troubleshooting tips to ensure a smooth viewing experience.

Quick Overview: What Is mytvonline and Formuler?

MyTVOnline 2 (often referred to simply as mytvonline) is a portal-based IPTV player preinstalled on Formuler set-top boxes. Formuler devices are purpose-built for IPTV, offering stable playback, EPG integration and VOD support. If you’re new, learn more about our service offerings on the Home page.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Send Us Your MAC Address First!

Before you try to connect, we must register your Formuler box’s MAC address with the portal. If the MAC (shown in MyTVOnline 2 as ID) is not registered you will see an error like “STB Blocked” or “Device Not Authorized”.

  • Open the MyTVOnline 2 app on your Formuler.
  • Click + Add Portal (or Edit Portal if you already have one).
  • Locate the line labeled ID — this is your MAC address (format: 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX).
  • Reply to your order confirmation email with that MAC address so we can activate it.

Once registered we will email your personalized Portal URL. Keep that email — you’ll need the URL for the next steps.

Before You Begin (Checklist)

  • Formuler box connected to TV and power (models like Z8, Z10, Z11 tested).
  • Stable internet connection (wired Ethernet recommended for reliability).
  • Your personalized Portal URL received from us by email.
  • Order number and MAC address handy for support requests.

Step 1 — Open MyTVOnline 2 on Your Formuler

From the Formuler home screen, launch the MyTVOnline 2 app. This app acts as the portal client, loading Live TV, VOD and the EPG directly from the portal URL. If this is your first time, MyTVOnline 2 will prompt you to add a portal automatically.

Step 2 — Add a New Portal

Use the remote to navigate. If the app didn’t prompt you automatically:

  1. Go to Connections in the main menu.
  2. Select + Add Portal.

MyTVOnline 2 supports multiple portals, so you can store different portal URLs and switch between them if needed.

Step 3 — Enter Your Portal Details Correctly

Carefully enter the following information. Mistyping the link is the most common issue.

  • Portal Nickname: Choose a name you’ll recognize (e.g., “Sweden IPTV”).

  • Portal URL: Enter EXACTLY the URL we emailed you — for example http://line.example.com/c/. Do not add username or password for portal connections.

Tip: Copy & paste the portal URL from the email to avoid errors.

Step 4 — Connect and Wait for Content to Load

After adding the portal, select the green Connect button. The app will attempt to load your channels, VOD and EPG. The first load may take a few minutes — please be patient and avoid interrupting the process.

If channels do not appear immediately, try the Refresh option in Connections or restart the box.

Step 5 — Enjoy Channels, VOD and EPG

Once connected, explore these sections in MyTVOnline 2:

  • Live TV: Your live channel list grouped by categories.

  • EPG: Electronic Program Guide for schedules (can take a moment to populate).

  • VOD & Series: On-demand movies and series available in your package.

Tips for Best Performance

  • Use a wired network connection when possible for stable streaming quality.
  • Keep your Formuler firmware and the MyTVOnline 2 app updated.
  • If playback stutters, close other network-heavy apps and test after a reboot.
  • Use the green Refresh button in Connections to update channels and EPG.

Common Problems & Troubleshooting

Below are the most frequent issues and quick fixes.

“STB Blocked” or “Device Not Authorized”

This typically means your MAC address has not been registered. Re-check the ID displayed in MyTVOnline 2 and send it to us. Use our Contact Us page and include your order number and MAC.

No channels or app freezes

Power-cycle the Formuler box and your router (unplug 30 seconds, then restart). Verify your internet connection speed and stability.

The EPG is empty

Try a portal Refresh (Connections > select portal > Refresh). If the problem persists wait 10–15 minutes — EPG can be delayed on initial loads.

How to update the channel list

In MyTVOnline 2: Main Menu > Connections > select your portal > Click Refresh. This forces the app to re-download channel lists and EPG.

If issues persist, consult our FAQ or open a support ticket via the Contact Us page. You can also check the Blog for announcements and known issues.

Alternative Apps & Players (Optional)

If you want to test other players or use mobile clients, several third-party apps are popular with IPTV users. These are optional and not required for Formuler, but they can be useful on other devices:

Note: These apps are third-party tools. We recommend using MyTVOnline 2 on Formuler boxes for the best compatibility and stability.
